In Greek, like English, there are always two ways to write a letter: the uppercase and the lowercase.
Here is how you write the uppercase álfa.
Α
It's the same as the English A.
And here's the lowercase álfa.

Start by making a slight curve at the top, like lowercase c in English. Then, extend the line upwards and around in a clockwise loop, returning it down to meet the start of the curve.
