Eric: Hi everyone, I'm Eric.
Chrissi: And I'm Chrissi.
Eric: In this lesson, you'll learn how to post and leave comments in Greek about going shopping. Δήμητρα (Dímitra) shops with her sister at the mall, posts an image of it, and leaves this comment:
Chrissi: Για ψώνια με την καλύτερη παρέα! (Ya psónia me tin kalíteri paréa!)
Eric: Meaning - "Shopping with the best company!" Listen to a reading of the post and the comments that follow.

POST
Eric: Listen again to Δήμητρα (Dímitra)'s post.
Chrissi: Για ψώνια με την καλύτερη παρέα! (Ya psónia me tin kalíteri paréa!)
Eric: "Shopping with the best company!"
Chrissi: (SLOW) Για ψώνια με την καλύτερη παρέα! (Ya psónia me tin kalíteri paréa!) (Regular) Για ψώνια με την καλύτερη παρέα! (Ya psónia me tin kalíteri paréa!)
Eric: Let's break this down. First is an expression meaning "for shopping."
Chrissi: για ψώνια (ya psónia)
Eric: Although this phrase is short and has no verb, it is implied that you’ve gone shopping or that you’re shopping at the moment. You could replace the noun for shopping with some other noun. For example, if you replaced it with...
Chrissi: φαγητό,
Eric: meaning "food", you’d be telling your friends on social media that you’ve gone out to eat somewhere. Listen again- "for shopping" is...
Chrissi: (SLOW) για ψώνια (ya psónia) (REGULAR) για ψώνια (ya psónia)
Eric: Then comes the phrase - "with the best company."
Chrissi: με την καλύτερη παρέα (me tin kalíteri paréa)
Eric: You can use this phrase in many situations to show that you’re with people that you have a good time with. Keep in mind that this doesn't necessarily imply friendship. Listen again- "with the best company" is...
Chrissi: (SLOW) με την καλύτερη παρέα (me tin kalíteri paréa) (REGULAR) με την καλύτερη παρέα (me tin kalíteri paréa)
Eric: All together, "Shopping with the best company!"
Chrissi: Για ψώνια με την καλύτερη παρέα! (Ya psónia me tin kalíteri paréa!)
