Hi Milos,

Both would be correct. There is however a subtle difference:

Ο πίθηκος κοιτάζει τη βιντεοκάμερα > The monkey is looking at the camera (as in looking the whole device, being curious about what is this thing)

Ο πίθηκος κοιτάζει στη βιντεοκάμερα > The money is looking at the camera (as in is looking at the lens while it's recording, because he knows he is being taken a video)

So, if you have a kid an you want him or her to look at the camera, because you're taking a family video, you would say for example:

Αννούλα, κοίτα στην κάμερα! (she will understand "I'm filming you!")

Otherwise:

Αννούλα κοίτα την κάμερα! (she will understand "Look what I got here! Look at it.)

Kind regards,

Stefania

shouldn't "at the videocamera" be στη βιντεοκάμερα?

Hello again Ed!

Πηγαίνω στην παραλία κάθε Τρίτη. I go to the beach every Tuesday. - Correct

Χθες πήγα στην παραλία. I went to the beach yesterday. - Correct

Διάβασα βιβλία την Δευτέρα το απόγευμα. I read books on Monday afternoons. - Hmmm... not quite. When you are talking about a repeated action, you don't need Aorist tense, which you used here and it means that an action in the past took place and is finished now. You need present tense in order to show this continuity up to this moment. And also you can use plural for "afternoons" in Greek too, just like in English. - Διαβάζω βιβλία τα απογεύματα της Δευτέρας.

Θα πάω αύριο το βράδυ στην παραλία. I will go to the beach tomorrow night. - Correct

Χθες πήγαν στη βιβλιοθήκη. They went to the library yesterday. - Correct

Πήγαν στη βιβλιοθήκη πρην από δύο ημέρες. They went to the library 2 days ago. - 99%! There is a small typo in "πριν"!

Οι πίθηκοι έτρωγαν το πρωινό τους στα δέντρα το πρωί. The monkeys ate their breakfast in the trees in the morning. - "Ate" is Aorist. The action is finished, but "έτρωγαν" is Imperfect, meaning "they were eating". Your sentence is correct, but it just uses a different tense from your English sentence. To make it the same it should be: Οι πίθηκοι έφαγαν... The verb "eat" in Greek is very irregular, so please have a look at its conjugation table to see how irregular it is!

http://moderngreekverbs.blogspot.jp/2008/03/i-eat-mangiare.html

Το καφέ πίθηκο έφαγε μια μέλισσα χθες. The brown monkey ate a bee. - This almost means that the bee ate the brown monkey yesterday! The subject "monkey" is masculine, so: Ο καφέ πίθηκος έφαγε μια μέλισσα χθες. (You don't mention "yesterday" however in your English sentence).

Great job! You are improving a lot!

Hi!

I made some sentences (with the help of google), but I am sure there are many problems. I am hoping you can help me correct them.

Το καφέ πίθηκο έφαγε μια μέλισσα χθες. The brown monkey ate a bee.

I was not sure if I should put the time (things like yesterday, tomorrow morning, last night, every Tuesday, etc) at the beginnings or at the ends of the sentences.

Thank you.
