Hi! My name is Eleni and we will do the Greek weekly words today together. So, let’s see what is the theme of the week, “computer words” λέξεις για τον υπολογιστή (léxis ya ton ipoloyistí).
1. φορητός υπολογιστής (foritós ipoloyistís) “laptop computer”
Φορητός (foritós) means “mobile” so it’s like “mobile computer” φορητός υπολογιστής (foritós ipoloyistís).
2. οθόνη (othóni) “monitor”
So Δυσκολεύομαι να κοιτάξω την οθόνη. (Diskolévome na kitáxo tin othóni.) “I have difficulties to watch straight on the monitor.”
3. ποντίκι (pondíki) “mouse”
So, as in English, ποντίκι (pondíki) means also “mouse” the animal. So... yeah, ποντίκι (pondíki) “mouse”.
4. εκτυπωτής (ektipotís) “printer”
Αχ, μου χάλασε ο εκτυπωτής! Μπορώ να εκτυπώσω σε σένα το βιογραφικό μου; (Ah, mu hálase o ektipotís! Boró na ektipóso se séna to viografikó mu?) “My printer just broke! Can I print my CV on your printer?”
So - Μπορώ να εκτυπώσω το βιογραφικό μου στον εκτυπωτή σου; (Boró na ektipóso to viografikó mu ston ektipotí su?)
5. επιτραπέζιος υπολογιστής (epitrapézios ipoloyistís) “desktop computer”
As in English, επιτραπέζιος (epitrapézios), so, τραπέζι (trapézi) it’s “desk”, so, επιτραπέζιος (epitrapézios), it’s “on the desk”, so, επιτραπέζιος υπολογιστής (epitrapézios ipoloyistís).
