Hi Stefania
Thanks for your cultural answer. I have asked my wife about he week and she said.
"El domingo es el primer día en Europa." ---->No caí..
The point taken!
I'll check how Plato counted the day, when The Gods of Olimpia were still alive.
Έχω πολλά να μάθω μα δεν ξέρω αν μου δίνει χρόνο.(Tengo mucho que aprender mas no sé si me da tiempo)
Or Italian (Ho molto da studiare ma non so se mi da tempo)
11 words for each
This is sentence is very easy to write because you can write it like Spanish or Italian. But Greek is difficult.
Multa discendi habeo sed nescio si tempus mihi sit. (Vaya, en latín son 9 palabras)
Γεια (not για) σου Χίρο!
1. The days of the week get capitalized like in English and unlike Spanish. So Δευτέρα is correct.
2. This has to do with religion. In Christianism and Judaism, Sunday is the Lord's day, the first and most important day of the week, so Monday is the second day, hence Δευτέρα, Τρίτη, Τετάρτη and Πέμπτη. Παρασκευή is called like that because the Jews abstain from work on Saturday (the day the Lord rested after a 6-day creation of the Earth and Heavens), so they were preparing (verb: παρασκευάζω) everything on Friday. Σάββατο is called like that because of the Jewish Sabbath, again.
Cheers,
Stefania

Για σου Στεφανία
I saw Η εργάσιμη εβδομάδα ξεκινάει τη Δευτέρα. in Daily word.
My questions are:
1
Should Δευτέρα always be written in capital letter like in English?
2
Δευτέρα gives me strange feeling. In Chinese the week starts with the first star, second, third..sixth and all stars in the sky, it's Sunday.
Where is the πρώτα? Do you know why it starts with the second day.
Ευχαριστώ
