Hi everyone! I’m Alisha.
Welcome to Conversational Phrases!
We’ve found that the best way to learn a language is to speak it from day one! And the best way to start speaking is to learn phrases that you’ll use in real conversations.
In this lesson, you’ll learn conversational phrases to answer the question, "What are you good at?" After watching this video, you’ll be able to talk about what you’re good at doing.
Now, let’s take a look at some conversational phrases!
Listen to the dialogue.
Σε τι είστε καλή; (Se ti íste kalí?)
Είμαι καλή στις γλώσσες. (Íme kalí stis glóses.)
Once more with the English translation.
Σε τι είστε καλή; (Se ti íste kalí?)
“What are you good at?”
Είμαι καλή στις γλώσσες. (Íme kalí stis glóses.)
“I'm good at languages.”
First of all you'll need to learn how to say “What are you good at?”
That's:
Σε τι είστε καλή; (Se ti íste kalí?)
Listen to it again:
Σε τι είστε καλή;, Σε τι είστε καλή; (Se ti íste kalí?, Se ti íste kalí?)
“What are you good at?”.
Now, how do you answer this question?
The pattern is:
Είμαι καλός [skill]. / Είμαι καλή [skill]. (Íme kalós [skill]. / Íme kalí [skill].)
“I'm good at [skill].”
For example:
“I'm good at languages.”
Είμαι καλή στις γλώσσες., Είμαι καλή στις γλώσσες. (Íme kalí stis glóses., Íme kalí stis glóses.)
