Eric: Welcome to 3-Minute Greek Season 1, Lesson 6 - Refusing Politely. In this lesson, you’ll learn how to politely refuse an invite in Greek.

Eric: Here's the most common way to say 'No, thanks.' in Greek in both formal and informal situations.
Chrissi: [Normal] Όχι, ευχαριστώ. (Óhi, efharistó.)
Eric: First is the particle meaning 'no'
Chrissi: [Normal] όχι [Slow] όχι (óhi)
Eric: Last is the verb meaning 'I thank'
Chrissi: [Normal] ευχαριστώ [Slow] ευχαριστώ (efharistó)
Eric: Listen again to the sentence meaning 'No, thanks.'
Chrissi: [Slow] Όχι, ευχαριστώ. [Normal] Όχι, ευχαριστώ.
Eric: Ok, now let's see the formal way to say 'No, thank you.'

Chrissi: If you want to refuse an invitation but you don't want to disappoint the person who invited you, you can say in both formal and informal situations "Ίσως κάποια άλλη φορά." (Ísos kápia áli forá.), meaning "Maybe some other time."

I love this website! I have used many different methods for language learning, including Rosetta Stone and Transparent language. While those are good, neither of them breaks the language down in such nuanced and subtle detail. This is invaluable when trying to learn a new language. Thank you so much!!!
