Judith: I have 50.00.
Πέτρος: Εντάξει, έχω εγώ σαράντα πέντε.
Judith: Okay, I have 45.00.
POST CONVERSATION BANTER
Judith: Okay. Let's talk about tipping and paying while we add it. What can you say about tipping in Greece?
Iro: In Greece, there is no tipping policy. Usually we’ll leave a tip in the restaurant, a tavern, a bar, or a cafe, to a hairdresser, or to a person who come to fix something at home.
Judith: What can I say if I want to tip someone?
Iro: Usually, you would say Είμαστε εντάξει which means “We’re okay. That is we don't need the change.” More rarely you could say Κρατήστε τα ρέστα which means “Keep the change.” If the service is bad, people do not leave a tip.
Judith: How much would I tip in a restaurant or cafe?
Iro: Usually we leave about EUR 0.50 to EUR 5.00 or more if the price of the bill is high. We can leave the money on the table or hand it directly to the person. I personally prefer the first way. This way, the waitress feel more comfortable.
Judith: How hard is it to find cash in Greece? Are there a lot of ATMs?
Iro: Yes. There are many ATMs. But in some places, it could be hard to find the money machine so it's good to always have cash.
Judith: And credit cards?
Iro: Well, most credit cards are accepted in hotels, restaurants, cafes, shops, travel agency, and grocery stores, but not in taxis, corner shops, and in some small shops or in small cities. Most places have stickers in the windows to inform the customers about the credit cards they accept.

KEY VOCAB AND PHRASES
Judith: Let's have a closer look at the usage for some of the words and phrases in this lesson.
Iro: The first word we’ll look at is "ευχαριστούμε", it's the same as "ευχαριστώ" except that several people are speaking. If you look closely, you'll see that "ευχαριστώ" means “I thank,” and "ευχαριστούμε" means “We thank.” It's irregular verb.
Judith: Then we "μήπως", "μήπως" means “maybe.” In questions like, “Maybe you’d like some ice cream?” "μήπως" is never used outside of questions.
Iro: "καρυδόπιτα" is a traditional Greek nut pie. Since it cannot be translated, we didn't put it in the vocabulary list. But when you're in Greece, don't forget to try karidopita.
Judith: Word order in Greek is quite flexible. In this dialogue, we saw the words "έχω εγώ", this is just as valid as saying "εγώ έχω", just less common. So you can say, “Have I” or “I have” and it means the same.
GRAMMAR POINT
Judith: The focus of this lesson are the numbers 10 to 100. We already had the numbers up to nine. Now here's more.

Judith: Thirteen.
Iro: δεκατρία
Judith: Fourteen.
Iro: δεκατέσσερα
Judith: Fifteen, and so on.
Iro: The next step is 20.
Judith: είκοσι
Iro: And for all the remaining numbers, we continue to put the once at the end, like in English. Twenty-one is...
Judith: είκοσι ένα
Iro: Twenty-two.
Judith: είκοσι δύο
Iro: Twenty-three.
Judith: είκοσι τρία
