Hi Bibiana,

Maybe it was ρακόμελο (ρακή + μέλι)? It's clear yellowish and it is usually served warm. In Greece mulled wine and punch are not popular for Christmas, but I have tried mulled wine in central European countries and now I make it every Christmas!

It is my dream to go to Santorini :)

No these alcohols are strong, something like metaxa or ouzo... but they have these taste of fruits. We have also liqueurs and a bitter herb alcohol called "becherovka".

I remember that I tried a soft alcohol from honey... but Im not sure if it was from Cyprus or Crete... Do you know anything about it? It was quite good...

I forgot to say the drinks what we drink before Christmas at Christmas markets (in the whole Central Europe) - punch, mulled wine (or hot wine - which is very good), and in Slovakia we have also "medovina" which is hot mead.

θα ήθελα να δοκιμάσω πολύ τα ποτά της πατρίδας σου. Αυτά είναι σαν λικέρ;

I dont like Greek drinks, and I dont drink a lot of alcohol... But I dont like the taste of ouzo and retsina at all! I have drunk Greek beer (Fix, Mythos. Alpha), and wine from Lefkada (this is not bad, I like sweet wine), and I have tried Mavrodaphne, but I didnt like it. In the summer I drank a lot of coffee - mostly frappe or freddo cappuccino, and from soft drinks sometimes orange juice.

In Slovakia the most poplura drink is beer (we have a lot: Topvar, Zlatý bazant, Saris, Corgon...) and a drink called "borovicka". This is a strong alcohol made from Juniper, but we have also "slivovica" from plum, "hruškovica" from pear and "marhulovica" from apricot. Slovak wine is also famous. And we have one speciality "kofola" which is the Slovak coca-cola.
