So many languages I´d like to learn. My mother languages are French and Malagasy. Then I studied English and German at uni. And now I can say I´m fluent in Swedish since I´ve been living in Stockholm in 14 years. Thanks to my Swedish I can understand Norwegian and a little bit of Danish. If they speak slowly :-)
A long time ago I started Portuguese from Brazil because I love singing Brazilian songs. I can thank lockdown for one thing: that I have a lot of time, so I went back to Icelandic and started Bahasana indonesian (to compare with Malagasy, cause our languages are related) and Persian because I love the way it sounds. And Vietnamese !
So it keeps me very busy ! And I love learning Greek ! Can´t wait talking with my Greek friends here.
I’ll chose French because I already studied French, but I feel I will be taking too much on now that I’m learning Greek.Thank you

Trying! to learn Greek -a little slow of late.
Oh, dear. There are so many. I have a smattering of Greek, German, and Spanish. Of course I would like to be more fluent. Then I would consider Italian and French. Then Nordic languages, like Finnish. Maybe some Icelandic. I'd like Hebrew so that I could compare my Greek New Testament with the Hebrew. Russian so I could read some of my favorite books in their original language. I fear that I may run out of time before I run out of languages I'd like to study.
I have knowledge in 16 of these languages already, one of them being my mother tongue (German).
My second and third languages are English and Spanish, followed by French and Afrikaans, then Portuguese and Italian and the others like Turkish and Hungarian and Swedish and the lot.
When I travelled to Indonesia in 1980 I learned quite a bit of Bahasa Indonesia, but there weren't much opportunities for language learning back then so I had to postpone the idea and got back to it only recently.
At the moment my main focus is Greek - along with a bit of Hungarian.
Cheers
Hi Christine,
