Frequently Asked Questions

How does this compare to hiring a Greek tutor?

A tutor can help you practice Greek or answer specific questions, but the teaching approach, lesson materials, and curriculum often vary from tutor to tutor. With GreekPod101, you learn from experienced teachers using professionally developed lesson materials and a structured curriculum.

Do I need a Greek teacher to learn Greek?

No. Many learners successfully build a strong foundation learning Greek alone. However, a Greek language teacher will help you practice, answer questions, correct mistakes, and keep you on track. With GreekPod101, you can start with the lessons (made by real teachers) and then add personal teacher support whenever you’re ready.

Are your Greek teachers native speakers?

Yes. All GreekPod101 lessons are taught by native Greek teachers. If you choose Live Classes or Premium PLUS, you’ll also receive personalized guidance from experienced Greek teachers.

Can I learn Greek without hiring a private teacher?

Yes. While learning with a teacher can help you improve faster, it’s not required. GreekPod101 offers thousands of self-paced audio and video lessons taught by real native Greek teachers. If you decide you’d like teacher guidance later, you can always upgrade our Greek Language Classes or Premium PLUS.

Can private Greek teachers help me prepare for language exams?

Yes. A Greek teacher can help you prepare for exams by explaining grammar, answering questions, correcting mistakes, and helping you practice the skills tested on the exam. GreekPod101 also offers exam-focused lessons, study materials, and practice resources to help you prepare for every level.
