Eric: "The team rocks!"
Chrissi: (SLOW) Πετάει η ομάδα! (Petái i omáda!) (Regular) Πετάει η ομάδα! (Petái i omáda!)
Eric: Let's break this down. First is an expression meaning "flies"
Chrissi: πετάει (petái)
Eric: Although this verb form means "flies" in the 3rd person singular, what it actually means in this context is that the team is winning with a great difference. Listen again- "flies" is...
Chrissi: (SLOW) πετάει (petái) (REGULAR) πετάει (petái)
Eric: Then comes the phrase - "the team."
Chrissi: η ομάδα (i omáda)
Eric: You can use this phrase, meaning "the team", as it is in many contexts. It doesn't have to involve sports. For example, you could use this phrase when you post a picture of you with your colleagues or a group of people that you hang out with.
Chrissi: "Η ομάδα."
Eric: Listen again- "the team" is...
Chrissi: (SLOW) η ομάδα (i omáda) (REGULAR) η ομάδα (i omáda)
