POST
Eric: Listen again to Δήμητρα (Dímitra)'s post.
Chrissi: Η πόλη αυτή απλά δεν υπάρχει! (I póli aftí aplá den ipárhi!)

Chrissi: (SLOW) Η πόλη αυτή απλά δεν υπάρχει! (I póli aftí aplá den ipárhi!) (Regular) Η πόλη αυτή απλά δεν υπάρχει! (I póli aftí aplá den ipárhi!)
Eric: Let's break this down. First is an expression meaning "this city."
Chrissi: η πόλη αυτή (i póli aftí)
Eric: In Greek, word order can be flexible when it comes to demonstrative pronouns and the nouns they define. Here, for example, you could say
Chrissi: η πόλη αυτή or αυτή η πόλη
Eric: to mean "this city." Listen again- "this city" is...
Chrissi: (SLOW) η πόλη αυτή (i póli aftí) (REGULAR) η πόλη αυτή (i póli aftí)
Eric: Then comes the phrase - "it just doesn't exist."
Chrissi: απλά δεν υπάρχει (aplá den ipárhi)
Eric: This is a slang expression that people only recently started using in everyday life and on social media. What this literally means is "it just doesn't exist." You can use this to emphasize the fact that something is incredibly and extremely nice, good or beautiful. Listen again- "it just doesn't exist" is...
Chrissi: (SLOW) απλά δεν υπάρχει (aplá den ipárhi) (REGULAR) απλά δεν υπάρχει (aplá den ipárhi)
Eric: All together, "This city is just incredible!"
Chrissi: Η πόλη αυτή απλά δεν υπάρχει! (I póli aftí aplá den ipárhi!)
