INTRODUCTION
Eric: Must-Know Greek Social Media Phrases Season 1. Lesson 15 - At a Family Reunion.
Eric: Hi everyone, I'm Eric.
Chrissi: And I'm Chrissi.
Eric: In this lesson, you'll learn how to post and leave comments in Greek about a family gathering. Σωτήρης (Sotíris) goes to a family gathering, posts an image of it, and leaves this comment:
Chrissi: Επιτέλους όλη η οικογένεια μαζί! (Epitélus óli i ikoyénia mazí!)
Eric: Meaning - "Finally, the whole family together!" Listen to a reading of the post and the comments that follow.

POST
Eric: Listen again to Σωτήρης (Sotíris)'s post.
Chrissi: Επιτέλους όλη η οικογένεια μαζί! (Epitélus óli i ikoyénia mazí!)
Eric: "Finally, the whole family together!"
Chrissi: (SLOW) Επιτέλους όλη η οικογένεια μαζί! (Epitélus óli i ikoyénia mazí!) (Regular) Επιτέλους όλη η οικογένεια μαζί! (Epitélus óli i ikoyénia mazí!)
Eric: Let's break this down. First is an expression meaning "finally."
Chrissi: επιτέλους (epitélus)
Eric: You can use this adverb when you want to talk about a long-awaited event. Sometimes you can even use it by itself on social media, but you’d of course have to create a post with a very self-explanatory picture. For example a picture of you holding your university degree. Listen again- "finally" is...
Chrissi: (SLOW) επιτέλους (epitélus) (REGULAR) επιτέλους (epitélus)
Eric: Then comes the phrase - "the whole family together."
Chrissi: όλη η οικογένεια μαζί (óli i ikoyénia mazí)
Eric: Occasions where all the members of a family get together are becoming less and less common in Greece. Although distant and close relatives might live close to each other, the modern lifestyle keeps people busy. However, during important holidays such as Easter, Christmas, and New Year's, no matter what, most people have time off so families can get together. Listen again- "the whole family together" is...
Chrissi: (SLOW) όλη η οικογένεια μαζί (óli i ikoyénia mazí) (REGULAR) όλη η οικογένεια μαζί (óli i ikoyénia mazí)
Eric: All together, "Finally, the whole family together!"
Chrissi: Επιτέλους όλη η οικογένεια μαζί! (Epitélus óli i ikoyénia mazí!)
