At this point I have to give some positive feedback: Even though I study on my own, and the lessons are great, I find a lot of motivation knowing that somebody's out there ready to answer questions. It feels less lonely and cheers me on with my studies. I look forward to the day when there are no lessons left and I can just casually go over some nice lessons for repetitions' sake. And then I know somebody's there to say "well done!".

- Μ’ αρέσουν πάρα πολύ τα μιλκσέικ με γεύση φράουλα. = literally: I like very much the milkshakes with strawberry flavour.

- Μπορείς να αγοράζεις φράουλες όλο τον χρόνο, αλλά έχουν καλύτερη γεύση το καλοκαίρι. = literally: You can buy strawberries all year round, but they have better flavour in the summer.

In Greek the meaning is the same. What changes is the way you translate this word into English depending on the context so that it sounds natural.

Another question:

What is this wore "γεύση" that appears twice on vocabulary expansion? Does it have different meaning in these sentences?

Μ' αρέσουν πάρα πολύ τα μιλκσέικ με γεύση φράουλα.

"I love strawberry milkshakes very much."

Μπορείς να αγοράζεις φράουλες όλο τον χρόνο, αλλά έχουν καλύτερη γεύση το καλοκαίρι.

I was reading your comments, and you were talking about verb conjugations... I use this page http://cooljugator.com/gr/ - its quite simple but thats why its good... and very transparent, I mean orientation is easy in it... it has all the important verbs, and shows the present, past simple, past continues, future - with the aorist form, and both imperatives... more than enough for beginners ;)

Two questions:

1. Is it correct to use "εξήγηση" in the singular? I think I have used it only in the plural before.

2. I learned the word καταπληκτικός from watching Greek TV shows on You Tube! Am I using it in an appropriate manner here?

The words mean pretty much the same:

από ένα σύνολο ανθρώπων ή πραγμάτων αναζητώ και βρίσκω αυτό(ν) που θεωρώ καλύτερο ή προτιμότερo:

From a group of people or things, I search and choose whoever/whatever I think is better or more preferable.

They both translate as choose.

To me "διαλέγω" perhaps sound a bit more casual and goes better when you go shopping for example, and you choose between some products. If a sales person would show you a variety of products he would say "διαλέξτε/διαλέχτε" (as in "please choose")

And "επιλέγω" to me sounds a bit more formal, or more serious. It is more like "I make a choice of..."

On internet sites, if you have to choose one option, it would be more appropriate to say "Επιλέξτε ένα από τα παρακάτω" (Choose one of the following)

Or when you have specific taste, or choices you make in life you can say:

Εγώ επιλέγω οργανικά λαχανικά. = I choose organic vegetables

Έχω επιλέξει έναν ήσυχο τρόπο ζωής. = I have chosen a calm lifestyle.

Πρέπει να επιλέξεις κάποιον νέο για τη νέα θέση εργασίας. = You have to choose someone young for the new job position.

Somehow, again to me personally, "διαλέγω" is more like "choose something that I like", something personal, and επιλέγω is more of "wise choice" I need to make.

Prepositions:

δια = though, in between (for διαλέγω, imagine you hand is INSIDE a basket with apples. You hand is BETWEEN them and as you go THOUGH all these apples, you pick one. δια-λέγεις!

επί = on, over (for επιλέγω, imagine you hand is OVER a touch screen of an ATM that shows you some options. Your hand will have to go OVER one option and then touch before you choose one. επι-λέγεις!

I hope this makes things a bit more clear!
