Cultural Insight
Eric: Now it's time for a quick cultural insight.
Chrissi:
Sometimes, apart from telling your age, you might need to specify the year you were born in. If you were born before the year 2000, you can mention only the two last digits of the year. For example, to say 'I was born in 1993.' you can say 'Γεννήθηκα το '93 (ενενήντα τρία.)' (Yeníthika to enenínda tría.) However, if you were born after the year 2000, it’s better if you mention the whole year. For example Γεννήθηκα το 2001 (δύο χιλιάδες ένα.)' (Yeníthika to dío hiliádes éna.)
