| Chrissi: Imagine you are in a bus stop in Greece and someone approaches you asking you whether you have an extra bus ticket to sell to him. If saying a simple Όχι, δεν έχω. meaning "No, I don't have." makes you feel bad for some reason and you want to sound more polite and empathetic, you can add the word δυστυχώς, meaning "unfortunately", at the end of the sentence and say "Όχι, δεν έχω δυστυχώς." Alternatively, you could add the word λυπάμαι at the end instead, meaning "I'm sorry" so you get Όχι, δεν έχω. Λυπάμαι. meaning "No, I don't have. I'm sorry." |
