Eric: Must-Know Greek Social Media Phrases Season 1. Lesson 19 - Just Relaxing.
Eric: Hi everyone, I'm Eric.
Chrissi: And I'm Chrissi.
Eric: In this lesson, you'll learn how to post and leave comments in Greek about relaxing. Σωτήρης (Sotíris) relaxes at a beautiful place, posts an image of it, and leaves this comment:
Chrissi: Ώρα για έναν χαλαρωτικό περίπατο στον ανακτορικό κήπο. (Óra ya énan halarotikó perípato ston anaktorikó kípo.)
Eric: Meaning - "Time for a relaxing stroll in the palace garden." Listen to a reading of the post and the comments that follow.

POST
Eric: Listen again to Σωτήρης (Sotíris)'s post.
Chrissi: Ώρα για έναν χαλαρωτικό περίπατο στον ανακτορικό κήπο. (Óra ya énan halarotikó perípato ston anaktorikó kípo.)
Eric: "Time for a relaxing stroll in the palace garden."
Chrissi: (SLOW) Ώρα για έναν χαλαρωτικό περίπατο στον ανακτορικό κήπο. (Óra ya énan halarotikó perípato ston anaktorikó kípo.) (Regular) Ώρα για έναν χαλαρωτικό περίπατο στον ανακτορικό κήπο. (Óra ya énan halarotikó perípato ston anaktorikó kípo.)
Eric: Let's break this down. First is an expression meaning "time for."
Chrissi: ώρα για (óra ya)
Eric: What usually follows this phrase is a noun. For example
Chrissi: περίπατος
Eric: meaning "stroll." as in…
Chrissi: Ώρα για περίπατο
Chrissi: meaning "time for a stroll." Of course, before the noun there might be adjectives or other words that define the noun, just like in our lesson. Listen again- "time for" is...
Chrissi: (SLOW) ώρα για (óra ya) (REGULAR) ώρα για (óra ya)
Eric: Then comes the phrase - "a relaxing stroll in the palace garden."
Chrissi: έναν χαλαρωτικό περίπατο στον ανακτορικό κήπο (énan halarotikó perípato ston anaktorikó kípo)
Eric: This phrase has all its words in the accusative case because we are using the prepositions..
Chrissi: για
Eric: Which means "for" and
Chrissi: σε
Eric: meaning "in" in the sentence it belongs to. Listen again- "a relaxing stroll in the palace garden" is...
Chrissi: (SLOW) έναν χαλαρωτικό περίπατο στον ανακτορικό κήπο (énan halarotikó perípato ston anaktorikó kípo) (REGULAR) έναν χαλαρωτικό περίπατο στον ανακτορικό κήπο (énan halarotikó perípato ston anaktorikó kípo)
Eric: All together, "Time for a relaxing stroll in the palace garden."
Chrissi: Ώρα για έναν χαλαρωτικό περίπατο στον ανακτορικό κήπο. (Óra ya énan halarotikó perípato ston anaktorikó kípo.)
